Recent RRB CBTST session structure: Official RRB special instructions describe 1 minute of typing practice, a short break, and then a 10-minute typing test used for evaluation. This website starts directly with the 10-minute practice test; the warm-up/break are not part of the scored practice simulation.
RRB note: The current NTPC practice page is configured for the English test. The official RRB process also provides for Hindi typing; Hindi fonts/options are intentionally reserved for a later language rollout. Always follow the latest RRB notice applicable to the recruitment cycle you are taking.
RRB NTPC Practice Behaviour in This Platform
- Typing is accepted on the keyboard only; the typing area is not editable through normal browser text-editing controls.
- Backspace, Delete, arrow navigation, Home/End, Tab, Enter and related editing/navigation keys are blocked during the NTPC test.
- Copy, paste, cut and drag/drop actions are blocked.
- Browser spell-check/autocapitalisation/autocorrection are disabled on the typing area.
- The clock runs for 10 minutes and starts with the first printable keystroke.
- The practice engine enforces a 300-word minimum for evaluation in line with the recent RRB CBTST special instructions used for the verified 2026 test session.
- For completed passages, the engine supports retyping from the beginning within the same test session.
RRB Error and Speed Calculation
- Full and half mistakes are counted separately.
- Total mistakes = Full mistakes + (Half mistakes ÷ 2).
- 5% of the total words typed is treated as the permitted/ignored mistake allowance in the verified RRB CBTST special instructions.
- Final mistakes = Total mistakes − permitted mistakes, with a floor of zero.
- Net typing speed = [Total words typed − (Final mistakes × 10)] ÷ test time in minutes.

- Type the displayed passage as accurately as possible.
- Do not use copy, paste or keyboard shortcuts.
- Use only the controls permitted by the selected examination module.
- Use Test Again to repeat the same examination or Choose Another Test to return to the selection page.
